Tennis : Leander Paes made a world record by registering his 43rd victory in the David Cup doubles
Olympic bronze medalist Indian tennis star Leander Paes has made a world record by winning the 43rd Davis Cup doubles event. Together with Rohan Bopanna, they defeated the pair of Mo Xin Gong and Zie Zhang 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3). Apart from this, this victory also led to a return to India's Asia Oceania match against China. With 44-year-old Paes, Bopanna made a pair because of the stiffness of the All India Tennis Association.
For a long time, Paes and Nikola Petranzli of the same were at par with 42 Davis Cup wins, but now they have set a record with 43 victories. First in 1990, Leander Paes started a campaign in the Davis Cup with Zeeshan Ali. Zeeshan is currently the coach of the team, followed by Mahesh Bhupathi with his successful pair, who are currently captaincy.
Paes and Bhupathi were considered dangerous on the world scene. Both have won in 24 consecutive matches in the Davis Cup and it is the highest. Thanks to great sports in service break points, Paes has managed to reach this place today. It can also be enjoyed in the fans.
