Hockey : Netherlands beat India 2-1 in quarterfinals
In the Hockey World Cup 2018 quarterfinals on Thursday in the Bhubaneswar, the Netherlands disappointed the domestic fines by defeating India 2-1. The Indian team lost the match despite taking the initial lead. In another quarter-finals, Belgian defeated Germany 2-1 to enter the semifinals. Australia face the Netherlands in the semi-finals on December 15 and England will face Belgium.
In the first half of the match, the Indian team got the lead with Akashdeep Singh (12th) goal, but at the end of the first quarter, Thierry Brinkman made it to the match in the 15th minute by the Netherlands. There was no single goal in the second and third half and the two teams were on equal footing before the last quarter. In the last quarter, Mink van der Weiden scored the winning goal in the 50th minute and despite great efforts, the Indian team could not score the same goal. Significantly, the Indian team has not been able to make a place in the World Cup semi-finals once after 1975.
