Hockey : Belgian defeated Netherlands to win Hockey World Cup for the first time



In the thrilling final of the Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar, Belgium defeated the Netherlands for the first time in the title. Belgian defeated three-time winner Netherlands to match 0-0, after a penalty shootout defeated in Sudden Death. Three-time winner Australia defeated England 8-1 to finish third.

Very exciting game was seen in the final match, but no team could score any goals in the entire match. After the five goals of the penalty shootout after this, the two teams were on equal footing 2-2, but Belgium scored a goal in Sudden Death and the Netherlands did not score after that, due to which Belgium's team became world champions Gone. Florent van Aubel scored the winning goal for Belgium.

2010 and 2014 world champions Australia defeated England 8-1 in the match for the third position. Tom Craig scored a hat-trick in the 9th, 19th, 34th minute by Australia's goal. Apart from them, Blake Gowers scored the eighth, Trent Mitan scored 32rd, Tim Brands scored 34th and Jeremy Hayward scored in the 57th and the last minute. Barry John Middleton scored the only goal in the 45th minute from England.
